This is Lee’s Story
“Here's some info on the ring recovery. It's not a return cuz my mom passed away some years ago.
8 years ago was about the time I started detecting, I went to the house I grew up in in Illinois and knocked on the door.
I told the owner that back in 1967,68, or 69 my mom had lost her wedding band in the backyard while hanging laundry. I asked if she would allow me to detect the backyard. She happily agreed.
Unfortunately I didn't find it this time. I did go a few times to visit family, I'd stop to detect the yard as she gave me carte blanche. But they were unsuccessful. I was determined to continue this search since it was so personal for me.
Fast forward to August 13, 2024
I detected the yard, for the 5th or 6th time in 8 years, and finally found it! “
We would like to thank Lee (biker chick) for sharing this.
That's an incredible story! It must have felt surreal finding your mother's wedding band after all those years of searching, especially in the same backyard where she lost it. Your persistence over the years really paid off. Finding something so personal and sentimental must be a deeply moving experience, reconnecting you with both the past and your mother in a meaningful way. Congratulations!
